Mahatma Gandhi's first television interview was conducted on April 30, 1931, by Fox Movietone News. 

*Location*: The interview took place in Borsad, Anand district, Gujarat, after the signing of the Gandhi-Irwin pact.

Gandhi was asked about his plans for the Second Round Table Conference in London, including his dress code, views on independence, and willingness to return to jail.

- *Dress Code*: Gandhi said he would prefer to wear his customary Indian dress, even if invited to Buckingham Palace, if the weather permitted.

- *Independence and Self-Governance*: Gandhi expressed optimism about India achieving full self-governance and emphasized the importance of non-violent civil disobedience.

- *Social Reforms*: He advocated for absolute prohibition and abolishing child marriages in India.

- *Preparedness for Jail*: Gandhi stated he was always prepared to return to jail for the national cause.
